Position
Summary:


Sovah Health in Danville, VA. is seeking a Full Time Central Sterile Processing Technician to join our team on 2nd Shift (3p-11:
30p & rotate on call).


The CSP Tech will:


Collect, decontaminate, store and distribute all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital.


Participates in a variety of duties involving the assembling, cleaning, sterilizing, wrapping, storage, and issuance of hospital sterile supplies and equipment.


Transports instruments to specific units.


Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.


Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.


Documents the sterility of all instruments and supplies according to hospital policy and procedure in conjunction with AAMI Standards.


Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on the patients need.


Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.


Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.


Minimum
Qualifications:


Minimum Education



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.


Required Skills



  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Requires flexibility in scheduling with the ability to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of care and nursing coverage to the patients of Sovah Health Danville on all units.
