Responsibilities:
Technical Assistance:
Provide targeted in person/virtual support to early childhood professionals on the following topics such as but not limited to:
childhood development, curriculum, emergency preparedness, business supports, opening a center or family day home and professional development.
Outreach:
Provide in person/virtual outreach services to early childhood professionals, families, the community, and stakeholders to increase the knowledge of childcare resource and referral services and the issues relating to and affecting children, families and the childcare industry.
Training:
Providing in person/virtual professional development training to early childhood professionals to increase their knowledge and skills to support better outcomes for children.
Travel:
Travel throughout various cities and counties within the Southside region of Virginia:
Amelia, Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Brunswick, Campbell, Charlotte, Cumberland, Danville, Halifax, Lunenburg, Lynchburg, Mecklenburg, Nottaway, Pittsylvania, Prince Edward, South Boston, and Richmond Tri-cities.
Qualifications:
An appropriate degree (i.
e.
, child development, social work, or other human services field) from an accredited school, and/or at least 3 years of professional experience providing direct services to children and their families, or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.
Must demonstrate excellent people skills, and ability to collaborate well with a diverse client population; strong organizational skills and diligence; experience documenting service delivery; and demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance and deliver professional development training (both in-person & virtually) Knowledge surrounding and/or working in early childhood is strongly preferred.
Must have a valid Virginia driver's license and auto insurance with an insurable driving record.
Must have access to broadband internet service to participate in virtual meetings and facilitate virtual training and technical assistance EEO / DEIB Statement:
