The 47-room boutique hotel is located in what was once home to the city's newspaper, The Danville Register & Bee, now freshly reimagined as a warm and welcoming home base for business travelers and Virginia vacationers.
We are looking for a rooms operations manager to assist in managing the execution of all operations in the rooms area departments (e.
g.
, Front Office, Maintenance, Housekeeping) and managing staff.
Seeking someone that strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the hotel, with close attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities Assist in managing the execution of all operations in the rooms area departments (e.
g.
, Front Office, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Breakfast) Supervise and assist both the Front Office and Housekeeping teams Understand employee and guest satisfaction results and develop improvement plans to handle need areas Verify that the team has the capabilities to meet expectations with proper training Lead by example by working closely with the team each day, ensuring proper procedures and policies are followed Assist employees in understanding guests' needs and expectations, and exceeding them, while providing a luxury level of service to all guests Work closely with the general manager in all departments, including accounting, human resources, finance, front office, housekeeping, maintenance, breakfast, sales, and event management Assist general manager in interviews/hiring decisions & conduct orientation for new team members Perform other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs Skills A minimum of two years hospitality management experience.
Luxury or boutique hotel experience is highly preferred Experience in both Front Office and Housekeeping departments Be able to prioritize and handle multiple situations at once Proficient in the use of computers, including daily use of multiple platforms/systems Excellent interpersonal and problem resolution skills Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, holidays and weekends Education 4-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major preferred; 2 years management experience in the guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area.
